The Normcore Puck Screen is a new and exciting tool that we have been using lately. This prevents draining and ensures a more consistent and balanced extraction with your machine. Specifications: Diameter: 58.5 mm, 53.3 mm, 51 mm. 1.7mm thick 316 stainless steel with 150 micron filtration holes. Features: Perfect addition to espresso brewing - improves water distribution and eliminates drainage Keeps brewing head clean - Protects the brewing head from sucking ground coffee when the lever is lifted Easy to clean - simply rinse under the tap to remove the base from the inside Please note: Given the thermal mass of the screen, it is recommended that it is placed in the portafilter and locked in place shortly before switching on the preheat controller Box contents: 1 x Normcore puck screen.

It helps with keeping my machine clean and prevents back flushing grounds into my espresso machine. Do make sure to clean it immediately after pulling a shot so it doesn’t stain over time.
Review: Forgiving +/- coffee grounds weight - For the Delonghi Dedica, 51mm non pressurized basket. Before using the screen, when scaling the coffee beans and grinding, the weight needed to be near perfect. Too much, and the portafilter wouldn't fit. Too little and the puck would turn into a muddy puddle. The screen make it more forgiving. I can scale a gram or so less, and the puck would be dry each time, along with the same great coffee taste. For me, this is a winner!

Just make sure you get the right size. This is a must have to keep your machine clean. Easy to use and works well with my machine. As long as you don’t abuse it too much it will stay durable.
