You can freely adjust to the most comfortable state to adapt to different head sizes. My nephew is 12 and we all like to use it to play games. **Q: does the strap let you raise and lower from your head or do you have to take the whole thing off?** A: The head strap gives you the ability to angle the headset off and on your eyes, but I would remove the headset completely to be safe. I don't use the little earphones but I tried them and they work. I'd suggest using earbuds over these though. For PCVR I use a pair of Sennheiser over the ear headphones and they fit perfectly over this strap, so if you have a pair of earphones they will work just fine with this. I've been using it for several months and it's held up very well. The strap will fit a very wide range of head sizes too. The simple adjustment knob on the back of this strap makes it so my son can put on the Quest and adjust the fit by himself, and get the exact fit he needs. So we can switch back and forth several times within a gaming session without any issues. The included ear muffs are pretty cool, but I personally keep them off. Although, they do work well. The problem I have with them is they work too well, and I don't want to block out most ambient sound, so I can hear if I'm being called by someone else in my house. But that's a personal thing. Good purchase *by D***D on Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2022* The media could not be loaded.  After my last headset broke I was in the market for a new one.After looking through Amazon I landed on this headset, and I'm glad I purchased it.I appreciate the turn dial knob which assists with tightening the headset as well as a bit of flex on the front headband.These extra features allow a bit more fine-tuning for comfortable placement.The one minor issue that I have is the articulation of the headphones.These ear pieces are not plugged in but instead funnel the audio from the quest to the ear pads.Although it does do a good job of directing audio they're adjustment leaves a bit to be desired as the ear pads do not fully cover your ear.All in all for the price, it is definitely worth it.
