Is there a trick to get rid of it?** A: Please put it into warm water before the first time of using, immerse it for 10 mins. That odor will be minimized. **Q: Should I cut the extra rubber/plastic off on the top that leaves the (ahem) nipple on each sphere?** A: I think so, but mine went in the trash after the first use. But when I got it and made some ice-spheres, I found they are just too small for their stated purpose. In fact if I doubt the recipient would hardly even notice anything special about them if served a glass with one or two in there, they are barely larger than a decent sized cube. I was hoping for a big sphere that filled up the glass from side to side. These do not fill the bill.
