Review: Easy setup and install. - Using this IR repeater, I was able to hide my cable box behind the TV. I simply adhered the receptor (IR receiver) end to the underside of the TV, the other end (IR repeater output) adhered to the cable box where the IR sensor is located, and then plugged the third end into a USB port on back of TV for power. Although the cable box comes with a bluetooth remote, I need to use my universal IR remote to control TV, stereo and cable box. This simple IR repeater does the trick when you don't have line-of-sight to the target IR device.
Review: Solved problem with weak remote control - I was a fan of Logitech Harmony but when they were discontinued and mine failed I had to get another. The RC I have now is good except its infrared signal is weak, and my audio system did not see the signals. This was a simple solution, face the receiving sensor towards my chair, hang the emitting sensor in front of my Yamaha receiver. Works great now.

**Q: This came with no instructions. Which end is the emitter and which end is the receiver?**
A: The larger one goes on the ledge of your tv( or a spot that will see the IR signals. The small one goes on the “ eye” of your cable box or eye of the television depending on what you’re doing.   It works reall good btw

**Q: Will this work in windows 10?**
A: This  Device will work with any infrared signal PC  home audio equipment  ect

**Q: will this work on an apple  tv box ?**
A: If the Apple TV box controller uses IR for its remote, then yes, the Obvis IR extender will work with it, allowing you to place the Apple box someplace where the IR signal from its remote could not reach the box.

**Q: How close to tv does emitter need to be?**
A: You need to test this but most people glue it to the box you are trying to control. On top of the receiver eye.

This thing works great! I have no idea who the company is, but I bought it anyway. I put the small end on my black TV stand facing up at the remote sensor on the bottom of the TV. I affixed it to the stand with some poster putty to hold it in place. The larger end I mounted to the top of the TV (see image). (Some folks complained about the lit LED, but frankly it's hardly noticeable on a 43" TV. That seemed to be the best location to make it work consistently.) Before I installed this device, I had to find the perfect spot to point the remote control because some genius engineer decided to put the TV's sensor on the bottom of the TV. That might work great if you hang the TV on the wall, but it's worthless on a TV stand (especially a black one). Now, I can point the remote literally in about any direction and it'll work. Best $7 I've spent in a while. Try it! You'll like it!
