Review: These work excellent for point to point bridging. - I live in a boat on the Columbia River. Xfinity refused to install the cable internet to my dock even thou there is a 200amp electrical service at the same dock. So the cable install ended up at the shop 280' away. There is a 20' high dike with roadway on top between the shop and my boat. I tried router antennas, then extension cables to get them outside. I tried high power wireless adapters, A $230.00 outdoor AP that I could get only 13mbs from. This was my last attempt at getting fast internet to my boat. These work great. I mounted one about 6' above the shop roofline on a pole set as station. The second on a piling next to the boat set as AP. Before this I had 2-3mbs connection at high tide only. After the install and a half hour of setup I had 36mbs actual internet speed tested on the comcast speedtest page. This has been a 100% solid, no drops connection since day one including a couple days of rain. I did put some plumbers silicone grease on the rj-45 ends to help moisture proof them. I used 2 matching loco M5's The ethernet cables are from the xfinity cable modem lan to the first Loco M5 set as station. The boat side ethernet cable is from my laptop direct to the second Loco M5 set as AP. Their are Power over Ethernet (POE) connectors/injectors included. POE means you only have one outdoor connection to the M5 unit and ethernet cables transmit data better too (dunno why). The boat side point could be connected to a regular router port also. The point to point connection is a invisible bridge. I'm using very secure wpa2 psk/aes settings. If you make your own cables you should pair the wires correctly. Just search rj-45 wiring. I'd give these a 10 star if I could. If you price some other solutions you'll see what a bargain these are. [[UPDATE]] Okay I didn't check the exact dates but I've had these installed about a month now. It's pouring down rain right now, really hard. I changed the boat end of the bridge and hooked to the WAN port of a Asus router. My laptop is on ethernet cable direct to the LAN on the router. My TV, DISH Network, Printer are all wireless to router. I just did the comcast speed test again. 31.45mbs download, 6.68mbs upload. So it's nearly double the speed of DLS over a 300' wireless bridge these are creating in the middle of a pouring rain storm. I also did a 5.62 gigabyte download in less than 25 minutes after the speed test. Awesome. I mean totally awesome. (update 2) I had to come plug this product once more. It's march, install was in September last year. It has rained, snowed, froze, sun baked. These are still going strong. The last speed test was after updating my Asus router firmware, I got 39mbs down and 8.8 up. Thats from a xfinity modem with blast. The modem with direct connect does barely 50 down. If you need a internet signal at 300+ feet away buy a pair of these. All the info you need is on their site. Best for the price there is. Oh and I have not had to reboot them even once. (final update 4/9/14) I did a comcast speed test this morning to recheck. Now I'm getting 41mbs down and 8.71 up. That's almost as fast as being wired to the cable modem. I know updating this review 3 times seems weird but I tried solutions for 3 months to get a truly fast internet connection. This is a great product.
Review: Easy To Configure, Excellent Performance, Affordable Price - I'm thrilled with the performance of these wireless bridges. We have two buildings approximately 2000 feet apart that were previously linked with a pair of WRT54GL routers and a Cantenna on one end. This worked admirably for almost 5 years, but our speed across the link has always left a lot to be desired. At the time we installed the original setup, there weren't many other affordable options out there. We hit the wall with that solution this year when Spring came and the trees between the two sites filled in more than ever before. We have fairly good line of sight during the winter, but there is a substantial line of mature oak and maple trees between the sites that completely obscure the two building during the Summer. I was skeptical that there would be much of a difference between the NanoStation M5 and WRT54GL and Cantenna, but boy was I wrong. It took about 15 minutes to configure each M5, then another 30-45 minutes to mount everything. One end has the M5 installed indoors with a window mount, pointed out the window towards the other building. The other end has the M5 mounted outdoors under the roof eave. Both are on the second floor of each respective building, approximately 30-35' off the ground, and about 2000' away from each other. Once I got them positioned as close as I could visually, I powered them on and pulled up the built in web interface to check the status. Both had already sync'd up with each other, and the signal strength was actually pegged at the maximum. I dialed back the strength on both ends to 18dBm and the signal strength stabilized at around 95-98%. My throughput was almost 200MB/sec between the links, compared to around 10MB/sec with our old link. Incredible! Reliability has been rock solid. Speed is through the roof. Setup couldn't have been any easier. This is a huge win and I highly recommend these devices. This is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review because that's how positive I am about these incredible devices.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 600' link
*by D***Y on May 24, 2012*

I'm using a pair of these 5GHz units to extend internet between two buildings about 600 feet apart. They have line of site with the exception of one large bush right in the path. they're set for +16dBm output and have about -50dBm receive signal strength. The speed test shows about 100Mbs in both directions. They've been running for about two weeks now with no problems at all. They've survived a couple of power outages and come back up without intervention. Setup was a little confusing. I spent almost 2 hours messing around with different settings before I realized that it really only takes about 10 minutes to set up a link. Also, it takes about 30 seconds for a link to show up _after_ the settings take effect, so have some patience when trying out the settings. Mounting was easy since I already had antenna mounts for a failing air802 link. Although these are only spanning 600 feet, I can see them easily covering a mile or more with clear RF line of site. I have roughly 30 devices connected on the client side. UPDATE: I installed another link for a friend between his house and business. The link spans just about 2000 feet with a line of trees in the way. Both units are about 15' off the ground at the ends and about 25' above ground level at the mid point of the link. They linked up with a signal level of about -68 dBm and a noise floor of -91 dBm. A speed test showed about 50Mbps throughput. I suggested to the owner that he cut the trees down for better reliability. Configuration was a snap since I'd done it before with my own link. Also, on my own link I've decreased the output level to +4 dBm on both sides and the link is still working great. Update 2: Sep 2016 I've had to replace both of the units at my friends location. Both times it was after a thunder storm with lots of lightening. Both units are mounted within a few feet of the power service entrance to the building. I'm assuming power surges took them out. Maybe mounting so close to the power lines wasn't the best place.
