However, I decided to change it up a bit by doing my own thing. I mixed pearl mica powder into some white interior household paint & primer that was an oil-based paint, and then I painted the tops of my old outdated Formica countertops with a roller to get a smooth surface! Next, I used some of the Giani Granite Step 2 Mineral Color - Pearl Mica and lightly sponged it onto the countertops. The next step, I hand painted some gold veins onto my counter tops, making sure that each step of this process was completely dried overnight! The next step was that I mixed pearl mica powder and ultra fine glitter powder into the epoxy resin that is included in the Giani kit. And I then slowly and evenly poured the epoxy resin over the countertops, using the directions found in the kit. After the resin was poured onto one countertop at a time, I rolled it out with the roller which was included in the kit. And I was amazed at the sparkle and shine coming from the epoxy resin with the pearl mica powder and the ultra fine glitter that I had mixed into it. The countertops looked amazing and very much like stone marble or quartz countertops. Which is what I was going for in my design! I let the countertops dry for a week before using them, and I've not had any issues with them whatsoever! The countertops look brand new, and they clean up easily. I've gotten so many compliments on them! Now, as for the remaining Giani paint supplies that I did not use in my kit, I plan on using them to do my bathroom sink's countertop. And I will do them as the kit suggest in the granite look. I can honestly say that I love this product, it does create new looking countertops with little effort, and you don't need to be an artist. Overall, I give this product a perfect 5 stars and I highly recommend it to anyone who may be on the fence, just get it. The results will amaze you!
