I bought one and it struggles to pull air through 1 filter and back out 1 filter. This is MAYBE 250 CFM, but probably 25 CFM. If you just need a fan to cool things off, then by all means this is probably fine. If you're looking, like I was, to build an air filtration system for a wood shop (even realizing I'd probably need more than one), this is NOT sufficient. I'm going the furnace blower route, the fine dust in my lungs just isn't worth the extra hundred bucks or so. **Q: Where is the power cord? Does it stick out from the middle of the fan?** A: The cord comes out from the fan, at the bottom edge of the grillwork, on the air-in side, just a little off from midway along that edge... hth **Q: Is the fan's frame metal or plastic?** A: The grey frame is metal, the front and back grates and the blades are plastic **Q: Does this fan suck enough air from the back to be able to put a filter on the front?** A: No, I tried it. It moves air fine without any blockages, I stacked 2 on their sides and placed them in a window, pushes air pretty good through house. I tried the with a pleated filter in front of it and it can’t get enough volume to be effective.
