This listing is for the Oriole style. The main difference between the Kildare and Oriole is that the Kildare models have a slightly tapered boar and come in 20 (sizes) keys while the Oriole has a straight bore and only comes in 4 (sizes) keys. This B-flat Oriole is the largest and lowest of the series, measures about 15" and compares to the Kildare M-series Bb. **Q: The susato website says 0912 - oriole pennywhistle in low -bb- this listing says 'high' ... i want bflat below standard d ...?** A: There is only two Bb whistles made by Susato. They both are lower and larger than a Standard High D whistle, and are medium sized whistle for they lie between the High and Low D whistles. Just for your information the Oriole whistles are Susatos low cost whistles and have a straight bore. Susatos higher end Bb whistle is the Kildare model and has a slightly tapered bore, tuning side with an o-ring and slots to hole cork grease and is a better whistle. The Susato was not as flat as the others but still flat even at it’s sharpest setting it still played flat. As I’m a woodworker, I have a disc sander and took the tube to it and after shaving off some material, I can now get it to play in tune.
