Sure, this one wouldn't be bad. That's what these are for. Pulling gears, pulleys, steering wheels, blades & the like. The anchors are pretty hefty, & the operation was smooth. The center is nicely tapered, but I'd still dab some grease on it. To put on back (on)? You'll spend less time using a soft mallet, than you would trying to balance the anchors of this unit, enough to push. You would need for the screw to catch something. The design is the anvils/anchors go up the screw to remove something. Hope this helps. **Q: Is there a minimum OD it can pull?** A: No it does not have a rated minimum OD. It just may be more difficult on smaller bearings/pulleys for the jaw teeth to grip.
