Getting the back spacing correct is absolutely imperative! Setting the guides up in their correct position is a must. I figured it out, but I took my time and I’m fairly good for a home mechanic. If you’re not sure, you will want someone knowledgeable to check your work. For example, my crank was bumping the top guide at first, causing resistance every 1/4 turn (see pics for better understanding on that). Once I got it set right and took it out, it was perfect! For someone who’s installed one of these before, I’m sure this would be an easy installation. You can see in the pics why these full guides are critical for DH bikes… the last owner of my bike replaced the original guide without a bottom roller, and that caused a few bites to be taken out of my swing arm… mostly just paint luckily. This unit got tested on my first ride and everything met and exceeded my expectations, including the bash guard. Excellent purchase! I bought this a number of months ago and have used it quite a few times, meaning ive bashed it into a number of trees I've ridden over lol. My mountain bike was a bit odd yo mount it to because i only had 2 of the 3 holes needed but it still fit and worked.
