For those who haven't tried anything but instant grits, the product can be smooth when it is cooked because the grit is finer or it can be rather "gritty" because the grind is much rougher. This is the longer cooking grits and comes out nice and smooth, but I tend to put it in my Instant Pot to cook so I don't have to stand at the stove stirring. It's great for breakfast with eggs and sausage but it is also great for those shrimp and grits, making cheese grits casseroles and for a side dish when you want to serve polenta. The three pack is plenty for my family and I just put the bags into the freezer until I need them.
