## Description

The crossbar is the result of a complete reimage of what a window fan should be. The air chamber plentifully draws fresh air from the outside, or is electronically reversed to extract stale air. Powerful airflow circulation and comfort At half the height of conventional window fans, the crossbar is easy to install, elegantly blends into space and preserves your view. Review: I mis-read the width, this unit is wider than my window by two inches, as I measured the wrong area. Anyhow, using the the included foam blocks to fill under the unit it all fit perfectly to fill the gaps. The unit simply sits on the window ledge, flush to the surface of the window opening. A few small bungee cords attached to scews (picture frame anchors) it easily holds the unit in place with no movement. With this placement, I can even pull the whole unit sightly forward and close the window behind it with the bungee cords. It Works fine.. its quiet, but not silent. I've had quieter fans. Air flow is good, but Static pressure seems to be low, anything blocking airflow like a closed door greatly drops its ability to move air. Crossflow fans like this are effecient, but lack a strong ability to push air through restrictions or into closed rooms.

**Q: CFM and watts for each setting?**
A: CFM - H: 162, M: 139, L: 88
Wattage - H: 25, M: 24, L: 23

**Q: is it true that you can't use with window screens?**
A: No! The screen on my window was about half an inch away from the fan. Also, I read that I wouldn't be able to fit it vertically. I WAS! I just had to put the "spacers" on top of the fan. 
As far as appearance, I LOVED it! It just wasn't as strong as I had expected,

**Q: Can this be cleaned easily?**
A: Define "Easily"?  

Because as someone used to cleaning out electronics this is pretty straight forward. Get a can of compressed air for cleaning computers and a vacuum with a hose and brush attachment then place the hose against the exhaust and use the compressed air through the front to break loose any dust accumulation. For me that's a simple 15 minute job at the end of the fall but YMMV.

**Q: is there a way I can buy just one or two more of the little foam blocks? My window is around 43" wide.**
A: While I did not need to use the blocks for my window, I had another problem as my windows open vertically. So I had to find a method to block off the rest of the window. My solution was styrofoam! You can purchase a styrofoam ice chest at a dollar store, and cut it to fit the space you need to block off. And you can order additional foam blocks on Vornado’s website (item AP1-0003 Soft-fit Modular Foam Block System in the accessories section) for $25.  The styrofoam is cheaper but not as attractive.

This fan is awesome. It was easy to install vertically in my bedroom window. I love that the flow can be reversed with a simple push of a button. The remote is also a great feature. Recommended by Wirecutter. Has a handy remote, fan can either blow air in or out. I only use the remote to control the fan because otherwise the temperature setting tends to activate and it won't turn on unless it is above a certain temperature.
