I keep a bottle in my desk at work just incase and use it discretely if I'm worried . The scent is strong but the lemon smell is very pleasant. If you're worried about it being too strong I have actually diluted the spray by dividing the bottle between two and mixing with water and find that helps with the potency but still is effective on my shoes.A little does go a long way and it dries very quickly. I haven't had any issues with it staining any shoes but also take care to try and only spray inside the shoes so can't speak to if it gets on material like leather or suede. I've only used it directly on my feet so far. It doesn't necessarily eliminate the odor, rather it functions more as a perfume that covers up the foot odor for some amount of time. Over the span of a day I had to reapply once. Overall quite happy with the product.
