I'm in the Army, and this vest has revolutionized my workouts. I use a lighter amount of weight for long runs and upper body workouts (I have the 3-1/4" shoulder model), and a full load (40 lbs) for "rucking." Great stitching and seems really durable. 2 weeks in--no problems. I wish I'd known that you had to order the sweat liner when you order the main vest. Otherwise you don't get a vest with the Velcro attachments. I'll have to sew in my own and buy the sweat liner separately. And this will definitely make you sweat! Doesn't bounce around and allows for full range of motion (I'm 68" tall; 148 lbs.). Also, I'm a female, and the vest isn't uncomfortable in the chest--plenty of cushioning throughout the whole vest. This device is phenomenal in promoting bone density which is why you may not lose desired weight but things will balance out. Great for training for runs and strength workouts. *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2012* Got this weight vest for my Spartan Race training. Very happy with it.I run with this as well as strength workouts. Weight can be adjusted from 0 to 40 pounds in 2.5# increments. The weights are small iron bars that are securely held in their own individual velcro pockets. There are several adjustable velcro straps to get it fit just right for your size.While running, the vest felt secure. The vest nor the weights weren't flopping around. The shoulders and chest piece are narrow enough that your arms won't be impeded when doing upper body training. Some of the workouts I've done that I loved this vest for include: running, pushups, pullups, burpees, crunches. As my strength improves, I simply add on another plate until I get the right workout.I wear a heart rate monitor chest strap underneath this and it still felt very comfortable. It is well padded. I didn't feel anything sticking into my chest during the workouts. The padding also must be impregnated with some sweat resistant liner, since I'm drenched after my workouts, and admittedly my shirt is RIPE with the stink of sweat, but the weight vest never smelled at all. I think you could wash the vest (once the plates were taken out of course), but I never really felt it needed it.I also must admit I like the power and intimidating look of the camouflage. When I'm running in my neighborhood, I get lots of enviable looks from the other runners who are running WITH NO WEIGHTS! I caught up to and passed the half-marathoner guy who lives down the street from me. Gave him a courteous nod, then blew past him. It's also nice running past those cross-country running high school kids and getting some thumbs up and some fist pumps. My wife said it looked like I was a suicide bomber with bombs strapped to my chest. As of yet, I haven't been stopped while running, but I'm not going near any government buildings just to be safe.Recommendations for future models: include a pocket for personal items, such as iPod/iPhone, car keys, gel packs.Overall a great vest. Well made, very functional, comfortable.
