Rather than individual feet, the backing takes up nearly the entire surface of the coaster, which I prefer, as it makes it more stable, and less likely to catch or tip on table edges.The slate has a clean, rustic look that I like. I was also surprised at the quality of the packaging. They came packed in a nice thick cardboard box that fit the coasters perfectly, meaning no chipping on the slate.Overall this is a really nice product at a great price.
