You have about 5-10 minutes to wash it off if for some reason you are not happy with the results but once dry it stays on very well. The key is making sure you apply evenly all over. And again a base tan makes it even better. The color shows up quickly as it drys. I like to wait a day after of not shaving so it can really lock in but you dont have to do that. Its great how it stays on for quite a while if you apply a little as it fades but shaving is not an issue for future showers. You may see a little come off when shaving but it is a very small amount. This bottle lasts me for about a month because of how well the color stays on. The scent is so-so . It doesn't smell like a fresh perfume scent like I would like but it doesn't smell bad. It works perfectly for me.
