Only one pair is machine washable so I thought I'd try this Scotchguard spray. One bottle did 6 pairs of shoes with multiple soaking sprays. It didn't affect the appearance of any of my shoes. Spray nozzle sprays evenly and gives a nice, heavy ,somewhat soak to my sneakers. It depends on how much you want to apply is my point. If you want heavy then apply heavy, if you want a light covering it works very well at light sprays also. I hike dusty, dirt trails with my dog and I need my sneakers to be water repellent with morning dew, or wet grass after rain. Ivalso need it to repel the dust from the trails. So far, so good. It is not odorless. There is a chemical smell during and after spraying. Even after it dried a few days later there is still the chemical smell, BUT, I have to press my nose up gmagainst the fabric to smell it, otherwise it is not noticeable. They are supposed to be water resistant but really aren’t** A: I have been using this the last 3 years on my cushions on my deck furniture. They are white and still look like new after owning them for 6 years! I used the regular scotchgard until I discovered this heavy duty version. Here is my procedure, at the end of the season I remove covers and wash them in the washing machine and dry in dryer. I store them for the winter. In the spring, I get them out and insert the pillow and cushions in the covers and spray vertically and horizontally on both side. I let them dry then spray them again. My dog has even peed on the cushions and it rolls off with no residue. Great stuff! I purchased my deck furniture with cushions at World Market. Not sure if they are olefin. **Q: Would this stain white tennis shoes?** A: I’ve used it on cheap shoes from Walmart to Nikes and Sketchers and in 10 years I’ve never had any yellowing or stains of any kind, that’s one of the reasons why I stand behind this product as I do. **Q: will this work on indoor carpet for pet pee and other pet accidents?** A: Hello - This product is not designed for indoor use. It did it again and same results.. I then tried it again with one coat in the morning and another in the afternoon as it takes a lot of time for it to dry. Same results, only lasted about a week or so. I tried it on my 3 year old tent and it didn't make it past the first rain storm.
