This external dvd drive will not play dvds in the following 3 situations:
1.Equipment: Only compatible with WINDOWS and OS operating system laptops and desktops (not compatible with mobile phones, tablets, cars, projectors, TVs, Microsoft surface, chrombook, Blu-ray discs, etc.).
2.Region code: Every disc has its region code. If the region code of the drive does not match the disk, the dvd maynot be played (our usb cd drive provides the function to change the region code, if your dvd is from Mexico, Then just set the region code of the drive to #4).
3.Insufficient power supply: Because our optical drive adopts USB3.0 technology, although its data transmission speed is faster than USB2.0, USB3.0 has higher requirements for the power supply capability of the USB interface (USB 3.0 requires the interface power supply capacity to be 1A, And USB 2.0 is only 0.5A.)
Our optical drive additionally comes with a typle c charging port and an extra usb c cable that included in the package, they can provide extra current for the optical drive to ensure that the device can read the disc normally.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lots of extras

I have a much more expensive external DVD that has been a problem from the start. It is super picky about what it will play so I decided to pick up this one to see if it could play a few discs the other one wouldn't. To be honest, I didn't really expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. This is truly plug and play. It has played just about everything I have tried without any issues. I am slowly digitizing my DVD collection and this has worked quite well for that purpose. The added ports are an outstanding addition and work flawlessly. It can also be powered via usb A or C and both are integrated into the attached power cord. My only complaints are that it is a bit slow and the cable is really too short though I do like the way it is stored on the bottom. The cable is built in so it cannot be replaced though I may try an extension cable. Overall, this is a very well-built and very easy to use DVD drive at a good price. If you are considering buying, just do it!
