These "student" strings clearly and amply filled the bill. They sound much better than the price would suggest too. Once I got them stretched out to be more stable they held tune very well and the resonance from the guitar was incredible. While you do have to deal with the variability of changes in a wooden neck for your tuning, having classical strings is much easier to deal with than electric guitars strings AND they're much easier to maintain as well. A simple wipe and your done. No need to use Fast Fret, Fret Ease or any type of string polish. The 3 bass strings are silver wrapped so they never corrode and the 3 treble strings are plastic so no corrosion there either. Stringing them up compared to a steel string fixed bridge is a little more involved but not something anyone can't learn to do either. You'll also really like the feel of these strings too. Just bought two packs based on prior wrong answer and of course all strings in both pack do not have ball endings. **Q: Will the strings hurt an eight year old child?** A: The strings will NOT "hurt" anyone at any age. But I do know that protecting a child from life will hurt them the most. Scrapes and bruises are all part of growing up. And teaches kids how to respond to lifes curve balls.
