Review: Great for training - Unfortunately the first one wouldn’t hold air. Had to return. Second one is great ## Features - Featuring Gilbert's newly patented Triangular surface grip pattern, the G-TR4000 represents a major step forward in grip technology on training balls. more defined pattern is hard wearing and allows the player more surface area contact with the ball when handling. - All Gilbert balls are hand stitched to ensure quality and care. All balls will ship deflated. - Hydratec technical fabrics and waterproof laminations have been installed to enhance the life and performance of the ball. - A 3 ply poly-cotton and cotton laminate panel means that the ball will weigh slightly more, perform better on longer kicks and passes, and generally hold it's shape better than a ball of 2 ply construction - Prior to training or match, use a soft cloth, light detergent and warm water to remove dirt and residue from your rugby ball. This ensures that the grip remains in prime condition for maximum length of time. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01FG07PII | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Ball Type | rugby ball | | Best Sellers Rank | #34,223 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #3 in Rugby Balls | | Brand | Gilbert | | Brand Name | Gilbert | | Color | Red | | Construction Type | Hand stitched | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 5,227 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05024686271122 | | Item Diameter | 5 inches | | Item Type Name | Ball | | Item Weight | 0.17 kg | | Manufacturer | Grays | | Manufacturer Part Number | 42097805 | | Material | Polycotton and cotton laminate | | Material Type | Polycotton and cotton laminate | | Model Number | G-TR4000 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Size | Size 5 | | Sport | Rugby | | Sport Type | Rugby | | Stitching Type | Hand stitched | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Brand:** Gilbert - **Color:** Red - **Item Weight:** 0.17 kg - **Material:** Polycotton and cotton laminate ## Images ![Gilbert Rugby G-TR4000 Training Ball Set (Pack of 5) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71wxHcF5RML.jpg) ![Gilbert Rugby G-TR4000 Training Ball Set (Pack of 5) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/715y5bctiyL.jpg) ![Gilbert Rugby G-TR4000 Training Ball Set (Pack of 5) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61OByFDl-mL.jpg) ![Gilbert Rugby G-TR4000 Training Ball Set (Pack of 5) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71EqiyBWUUL.jpg) ![Gilbert Rugby G-TR4000 Training Ball Set (Pack of 5) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81QrVLHkQ2L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does it come inflated?** A: Balls will ship deflated because that is how they come from the factory and it saves space on shipping. We can ship inflated by special request but the shipping charges are much higher due to dimensional weight. there is no easy way to do that on Amazon. Also, all balls will lose air over time so having a pump is a good idea. **Q: what size would be good for 10-13 yr old?** A: Typical Sizes are Size 3 for under 9 years, Size 4 for under 14 years, Size 5 for everyone else. **Q: What color is the ball? Is it a yellow or green? I am kind of color blind and it is hard to tell in the pictures. I am talking about the fluoro one.** A: I bought a white and black one. The one in the picture is an ugly yellow color.. lol **Q: it comes inflated?** A: All Rugby Balls are not inflated when shipped. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality at i's best!! *by S***Y on July 15, 2026* Gilbert the #1 name for rugby balls!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for training *by A***P on January 13, 2026* Unfortunately the first one wouldn’t hold air.
