I purchased two of these rug pads and trimmed them slightly to fit our runner, and we couldn’t be happier. No sliding whatsoever. The rug pads have a grippy rubber backing that lays on the floor, and the top-facing side is a felt-like material that does a fantastic job “gripping” the cotton backing on the rug. In a way it prevents sliding and slippage twice: between the floor and the rug pad and between the rug pad and the rug. Very easy to trim with scissors. Would buy again.

We recently purchased a 28’ long carpet runner for our hallway. The rug has a cotton backing and would slide very easily on our wood floors. I purchased two of these rug pads and trimmed them slightly to fit our runner, and we couldn’t be happier. No sliding whatsoever. The rug pads have a grippy rubber backing that lays on the floor, and the top-facing side is a felt-like material that does a fantastic job “gripping” the cotton backing on the rug. In a way it prevents sliding and slippage twice: between the floor and the rug pad and between the rug pad and the rug. Very easy to trim with scissors. Would buy again.

Ordered this because it was less expensive than buying from a local carpet supplier. I needed a pad to go under a 16' hall runner to protect the hardwood flooring which was too thick as our double bi-fold doors on the linen closet needed to clear the rug when opened. Exactly the right height. I rated adhesion 4/5 because the runner does move over time but it's very easy to straighten it out. I rated it a 3/5 for softness because it isn't particularly soft as it is not too thick. The runner itself is very cushiony. Great value.
