This GM lubricant used to cost a lot more, so that's even more reason to use the actual GM lube. After a number of years I noticed several people posting about bearing failures after switching to other lubes. It took time before their problems showed up. I've been turning wrenches for 60 years and I've seen a lot over that span. I recently retired as a mechanic major airline (including a turbine shop inspector and 12 years in the ground support equipment garage). I've seen many lubrication issues over the years. I don't recall which engine it was, but just before I retired we had bulletins warning us to check for the proper engine lubricant, because what he had been using (for years) had just been superceded.
