## Description

Now, you can repair the problem plastics like TPO, TEO, and PP just like the pros do with the Uni-Welder Lite. The Uni-Welder Lite contains everything you need to repair problem plastics. Just look at all the benefits... 200 watt element provides you with the necessary heat to apply the FiberFlex and melt in the Stainless Steel Reinforcing Mesh. Special tip allows for easy spreading and shaping of the FiberFlex. Stainless Steel Wire Mesh creates repairs that are often stronger than the original part. Stainless Steel Wire Brush keeps build-up from forming on the tip so that you can blast through your repair in no time. FiberFlex welding rod eliminates the need to identify the plastic. This kit contains the heating element with the flat welding tip, a welder stand, stainless steel reinforcing wire mesh (10 inches (25 cm) by 5 inches (12 cm)), 15 ft. (4.6 m) of Polyvance's FiberFlex. Each rod is 1 ft. (30 cm) long. The rods are approximately 1/8th inch (3 mm) thick and 1/2 inch (12 mm) wide.

Review: Works great - This was used to repair the air dam on a 1999 cavalier that had been cleanly ripped about half way down and I was sick of watching it flap around. It’s made of the TPO plastic and long discontinued. I did not want use tape. Easy to use and made a very strong, durable repair. It’s stronger than the other half that was intact. I wiped the area with MEK to clean it and no problems using it. I didn’t have any acetone on hand and didn’t have to drill out the rivets. It was brazed together while attached. There was a steady breeze of air flowing away from the work area so no vapors hanging around from the melted rod.
Review: Love this kit - I did buy specific plastic strips matching the material which I was repairing so the only part of the kit I have not tried so far are the supplied plastic strips. So far I have repaired PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), and ABS. All were successful using the welder in this kit as the welder and strips matching the part to be repaired. ABS was probably the easiest of the 3 but none of the 3 was difficult. I only used the screen on the ABS. I have a 79-85 Cadillac Eldorado with mounting tabs where screws go through the panel surrounding the stereo. The screws are pretty well hidden but a prior owner over torqued the screws holding the panel through the mounting ears and destroyed them. I started from the back and I first used the welder to stitch the cracks and any pieces which still existed. I then melted in a piece of the screen polyvance includes in the kit from the back of the panel to start the reconstruction of the tab. After the screen was melted-in I added some ABS material using strips I bought on desertcart to both the front and back of the screen. The only thing I wish I had done was to separate the screen slightly where the screw needed to go through. I tried drilling the reconstructed tab and the drill bit caught the screen. It was a situation where it would have been easy to crack the tab again. I was able to enlarge the area in the screen for the hole without the drill and it was fine. You can clear the plastic where the hole needs to be by heating the back of a drill bit, while holding the bit in a pliers, and the heat will form the hole revealing the screen. A lot of old interior cosmetic trim pieces are ABS. Always look for markings on the original part and use the same material type for repair. Also check markings on other plastic items you have for possible use and even to practice on. Harbor Freight holders commonly used to display socket extensions I had were "PP" and they were the perfect thickness to repair a PP part I had where a section was missing. I cut a template out of cardboard and then I used the template to cut the tool holder and the missing piece was welded-in using the Polyvance welder. It's not always easy to find repair plastic in the thickness you need for reconstructing large pieces so the Harbor Freight tool holders saved me. Layering thinner sheets does not work well. If I had to build something up again I would try the stainless screen between the layers and it may work. One other thing I noticed was it took a little longer than I wanted to wait to heat the tip the first time. I didn't go crazy with it but I used my MAPP gas torch to speed it up a little. Great kit and polyvance was helpful answering questions before I bought it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kit works great

Practiced by repairing the garbage can that the pickup crew had dropped and was surprised at how solid the repair was to a 15 inch crack in the can. I moved on to a motorcycle fairing that had been bumped and cracked, and again was impressed with how easily the repair went. A case for the iron and other parts would be nice, but it works very well.
