## Description

The patented TacStar Sidesaddle mounts 6 extra rounds on your shotgun in a convenient and accessible location for fast reloading. The tough, weatherproof shell carrier is attached to an aluminum mounting plate that installs directly on the shotgun receiver. All mounting screws are included, no gunsmithing required. Installation is easy, and in most cases requires no alterations to the shotgun. Please note: some field grade shotguns may require a modification to the shotgun's forend as the forend will be too long and will contact the sidesaddle, affecting functionality. If you do not wish to modify the forend, we recommend the Tacstar 4-Shot Sidesaddle. Shotguns using the TacStar pistol grip forend do not require modification. 12 Gauge only.

Review: Pretty top notch side saddle for Mossberg 590 - Got the TACStar side saddle shell carrier for my Mossberg 590. Installation was a snap. The instructions included are easy enough to read and follow and matched the hardware/configuration on my shotgun. I read the top rated review on the product and thought purchasing the extra nut for the long bolt in the trigger assembly sounded like a really good idea. Unfortunately, I received my side saddle in the height of the COVID 19 lockdown, so a discretionary trip to the hardware store was out of the question. As it turns out, I respectfully disagree with the earlier reviewer that said you needed the nut for the second mooring point. The mounting plate for the carrier has two holes. One is for the front screw in the action and the second hole is for the longer trigger assembly bolt. That second hole is threaded, meaning that when you put the longer bolt in, you screw it into the mounting plate. Therefore, there are actually two attachment points for the carrier to the receiver. Blue loctite is a great idea, however, and I fully support that. I may still go get an additional nut for the longer bolt if I'm looking for something to do later on, but the bottom line is I don't think it's needed. If you do, great - get the additional nut. I'm not casting dispersions here or saying anyone is wrong. Merely that the carrier I received had two, not one, attachment points. The plastic carrier itself was a little curved so you had to press down once you attached one end so that the other end's holes would align. The end side screws threaded immediately. The middle ones needed a little persuasion to get the threaded shaft aligned with the holes, but they eventually went in ok. I have NOT used the gun since I installed it, so perhaps the ratings change if after 10 rounds the thing is rattling around loose. Based on other reviews, however, I don't expect that to be the case. All in all I have a 6 shot carrier on the receiver, a bandolier shoulder strap, and a full magazine, so I'm pretty loaded up if I ever need it. Good value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or buy another one.
Review: Great fit, easy install! - My first unit that I received didn't have enough relief/ countersink machined into the pocket on the backing plate, didn't leave enough thread exposed for the nut to grab. But the seller was prompt and replaced with a new unit within 24 hrs, and the second kit fit perfectly. The only thing that I would change with their design would be the long machine screw that replaces the trigger pin. It should only have threads at the very end and not the portion thats exposed to the trigger housing but that's minor and I'm OCD. I do recommend blue lock tight if you use your blaster a lot. I'm really happy with the side saddle, it's on my Persuader and now have 14 rounds of double OO and slugs on board! I'd recommend this sidesaddle to all my buddies.

**Q: Will this fit on a moss 590a1 using a top fold knoxx stock?**
A: since it states it fits on the 590 series, it will fit them all.  They all use the same location of receiver pins.Wood fore grips will need to be trimmed, but synthetic fore grips are good to go. I used it on my Moss 500a1.

**Q: will this fit a maverick 88 ?**
A: I haven't tried it although I do own an 88. However I do believe that it will fit since most all of the parts will interchange with the model 500.

**Q: Will this fit on a shockwave?**
A: A shockwave appears to be a normal 590 with a shorter barrel and stock. The sidesaddle should fit fine.

**Q: Does This fit the Maverick 88?**
A: YES it will fit the Mossberg 88.

Got the TACStar side saddle shell carrier for my Mossberg 590. Installation was a snap. The instructions included are easy enough to read and follow and matched the hardware/configuration on my shotgun. I read the top rated review on the product and thought purchasing the extra nut for the long bolt in the trigger assembly sounded like a really good idea. My first unit that I received didn't have enough relief/ countersink machined into the pocket on the backing plate, didn't leave enough thread exposed for the nut to grab. But the seller was prompt and replaced with a new unit within 24 hrs, and the second kit fit perfectly. The only thing that I would change with their design would be the long machine screw that replaces the trigger pin. It should only have threads at the very end and not the portion thats exposed to the trigger housing but that's minor and I'm OCD. I do recommend blue lock tight if you use your blaster a lot. I'm really happy with the side saddle, it's on my Persuader and now have 14 rounds of double OO and slugs on board! I'd recommend this sidesaddle to all my buddies.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits perfectly on my Mossberg Maverick 88

I hate to admit it, but before receiving this in the mail, I watched a youtube video of two 14 year olds installing this on their shotgun and it made installation a breeze! But it fit the Maverick 88 perfectly with no wiggle or play. Installation is easy even without watching 14 year olds fumble around with it. (the video was pretty funny) There are several models of the side saddle, and this one obvioulsy fits six shells, so why not buy the six versus the 5 or 4?! Overall, top quality product! Sturdy plastic shell holder fits on top of solid metal plate that mounts to your shotgun. Plain and simple, easy to use.
