We purchased these brackets, reapplied the led strip with the adhesive, and secured the strip by using a bracket every 18 inches. They work as expected. It's been more than a month and the combination of the adhesive backing that came on the led strip and these brackets has kept the strip straight and fully mounted. (I expected some sag between brackets, but there isn't any.) The daughter is pleased. The one caution for buyers. Doublecheck the type of led strip you're using. The led lights come in different widths and there is generally a difference in shape between indoor and outdoor/weatherproof strips. We happened to use the outdoor version of led strip. The outdoor style have a round silicone cap where the indoor do not and are flatter. We got lucky and got it right. I screwed them into wood, and they work like a charm. **Q: What is the screw size? I would like to swap the metal screws out and use nylon screws (no rust)** A: Not sure of the screw size. You can switch out but the screws should not rust. **Q: How do you know what size led lights you have** A: The light strip specifications should say but most are about the same width. All outdoor strips will be about the same and a little wider than indoor strips. All of the strips I've purchased are flexible and should be okay.
