What am I doing wrong? I used the brush wet and dry, how do I move the brush on the fabric?** A: Dear Kevin- Please don't think you are doing something wrong. We wish it weren't so but there are certain conditions where the BFF does not work as well as others. For instance, sometimes pet hair weaves itself into rugs and fabrics and it becomes very hard to pluck back out, and some pet hair is so short and downy that it is really hard to pick up. One of our test doggies is a Boxer with little eyelash size fur, and the BFF works well cleaning his microfiber bed and favorite spot on the couch, but we have heard from the owner of a French Bulldog that she had more difficulty getting up all of the tiny furs in her car's carpeting. The Lilly Brush BFF is designed to work just as well on clothing as on upholstery. We do recommend dampening the bristles slightly before use for clothing made of artificial fibers like polar fleece, nylon, modal, etc. This helps combat the static attachment these fabrics generate with pet hair. Some people do prefer to use our portable Lilly Brush SAVE OUR SWEATERS brush for clothing. It has the same bristles as the BFF, but because it is smaller, they report that it is easier to use for lint and pet hair touch ups on the way out the door or in the car. Most customers purchase the BFF for use on the larger areas in their homes because of its larger bristle surface area and more ergonomic handle. Aside from washing it outside, is there another way to clean the hair off of the brush after use?** A: The bristles are short. As you brush, the hair is gathered in a string or clump and is easily pulled off and thrown away. Very little stays on the brush. The bristle section is about 4 1/2" long. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Holy Dreadlocks! *by K***L on December 15, 2014* I was rather skeptical when I first bought this, but when I took it out and tried it, I was amazed at how well it works. I have 5 indoor cats, one of which has long, very fine fur that sticks to everything. I have several cat trees that are covered with carpet material and a couple of loveseats that are covered in micro suede. It worked well on all of them. You do have to add a degree of elbow grease, but it's still easier and less expensive than lint rollers. You have to use a side to side back and forth motion and, like the instructions say, with the brush lightly dampened. That resulted in little rolls of fur forming on the brush that were easily pulled off and put in the trash. When I got to the room with the long haired cat, a somewhat different result happened. The fur formed the cutest little grey dreadlocks ever! With the amount of fur on the cat trees in here was bordering on felt so it took several brushings to get it all off. I did find that depending on the nap of the material, you may have to try brushing in several different directions to find which one works best. One of my cat trees has faux mink that has material that lays in opposing directions in strips so it's a bit of a challenge to find the right direction for it. The only drawback I found was that the bristles do not come very close to the end of the bush so getting into tight places is difficult, but it's not enough of a problem for me to deduct a star. Many brushes have bristles that are long enough for fur to get tangled in them. That is not the case with this brush. It's definitely the best thing I've found for removing cat or human hair from furniture. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential for any dog/cat owner! *by C***G on September 13, 2022* This brush makes getting fur off my couch and bed sheets so easy! I'm glad I got this instead of the OXO velvet lint roller. Unlike velvet lint rollers, this brush is most effective when used in a back-and-forth motion. With a back-and-forth motion, the fur gathers up in the middle of the brush between its two rows of bristles, and that makes it easy to remove the fur from the brush. I'd only use this on upholstery and not clothing as I feel like this brush would be too rough on my thinner fabrics.
