Bare wire or requires a banana plug on the back as well?** A: You can connect the in-wall speaker wire to the other side of the banana jack using bare wire and the top of screw-on banana terminal (the part with the color-coded red or black paint). I do not believe you can use banana plugs on both the front and the back of the jack as the plug itself has a long center shaft--using two, one from each side, will likely result in the two plug center shafts interfering with each other. And, practically speaking, one doesn't need (or shouldn't want) a banana plug on the inside of the wall as one installed, the wires will not often need moved.
