All you do is put the cup in freezer get whatever type of drink you want make sure you put the lid on first before you start squeezing the cup to prevent the liquid from spilling. My 12 year old son loved his and it works fast! Not as difficult to clean as I had expected, but still several parts, then finding a place to store it, not burying it in the freezer... all kind of a pain. Ours lasted 4 months before it got a hole and started leaking. I can't justify the price of $25 for another, but if was fun while it lasted.
