I like 2.5 for a light brown waffle. Preheat the machine till it beeps for both sides and the green lights are on. Oil the cooking service and apply a thin even amount of batter so it almost covers. Close lid and wait 10 seconds and flip. When the green light comes back on and the machine beeps again it is done.
