The handy depth adjustment knob varies each pass to take off anywhere from 0 to 1/8 of an inch. The 2.5-inch and 4-inch dust ports remove chips and sawdust from the workpiece while the depth stop presets help prevent you from planing off too much material. **Q: What are the differences that really count between the two Wen planets - 12-1/2" & 13"?**
A: The product description pics answer this question pretty well. 
- 12 1/2” model doesn’t have a top cover. 
- 13” model has a stamped (but nicely polished) steel table, and not the nice granite table like the 12 1/2”.

**Q: The wen website says this is a 12 amp planer why is it advertised here as a 15a?**
A: The planer itself says 12 amp, and the manual also confirms 12 amp.  Not sure why the title says otherwise.

**Q: What does this machine do?**
A: It creates more snipe than you can shake a stick at. Unless you are prepared to loose five inches off both ends of every board buy a different machine.

Seems to be a decent value , but I do not use it enough to really know how good or durable it is. Not gonna give something five stars , because it works good for a couple months on a few projects. I hope it lasts a good long time.But only time can tell.
