However, we have two chihuahuas I wanted to keep out of our formal dining room when I bought a new white rug and it is perfect for that. It is light and easy to fold up or move, and the extra long length is great. The opening to our room is 6 1/2 feet and we still have an extra gate panel (that could be removed by unscrewing the hinge) length wise. Because of the low profile, it isn't an eye sore at all.
