I have to finally order another one because I caught it on something the other day and bent the steel belt clip. I would still be able to use it with the pin, but prefer it in clip mode. About every 3-4 years I did shorten the Kevlar by about a an inch after tying a new not in it. I found that it would start to fray right at the locking ball near the keys. **Q: Will this lock at any length or does it only lock fully retracted?** A: Only locks fully retracted. **Q: Female working in lock-down psych hospital, belts are thinner than men's. Does the loop adjust for smaller width?** A: Hi, No it does not, with this model. This model is meant to be used with the 2 1/4" Duty Belt. The #S48-SDK model has a clip on the back that will work because it can be converted into a loop that locks. George **Q: Where can i find the loop that goes with this and how do i install it where the clip was?** A: Mine came with a leather loop on it. I’m assuming it’s for a 2.25in duty belt. I use it on a 2in belt. I pinched the leather and used black tape to keep it tight.
