## Description

Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Clear Finish Floor Coating Kit is a two-part, 100% solids epoxy system designed to provide excellent hardness, adhesion and durability on properly prepared concrete floors in enclosed garages. This high-gloss clear coating resists salt, oil, gasoline and other harsh chemicals and is not intended for areas exposed to direct sunlight. One kit covers up to 500 square feet on painted surfaces or 250 square feet on bare concrete. The two-part burst pouch mixes in 2 to 3 minutes and must be applied within 1 hour of mixing; use a synthetic 3/8 inch nap roller in 4 foot by 4 foot sections, keeping a wet edge to prevent lap marks. For a slip-resistant surface, mix in the included Anti-Skid Additive before application. The surface is ready for light foot traffic in 12 to 16 hours, normal foot traffic in 24 to 48 hours, and full vehicle traffic in 3 days. Clean tools and mixing equipment with acetone or MEK solvents.

Review: Prep is the hardest part! - I purchased this product along with the Rustic brown stain additive in order to complete my basement living room floor. The key to using this product is in the prep work. Take the time to clean and repair your concrete before using this and you will have a beautiful floor. I read several different blogs/reviews before purchasing and was able to avoid several issues others had encountered. My floor was painted with a cement colored Kilz due to multiple stains by the homes previous owner. The application of the product was simple but I would suggest having a partner. Having one person cut in and the other go behind them with a roller. At the 45 minute mark it started becoming thick and was a little more difficult to get an even coat. If I had worked alone I would not have had the best results. I also had a several settlement cracks in the floor. I chose not to repair those because I liked the way they looked and I think it added a lot of character to the floor. I repaired holes left by the tack strips and used backer rod and concrete repair in the deepest part of the cracks. Cleaned twice with TSP, painted with Kilz and then applied the product with stain additive and anti slip granules. I couldn’t be happier with this product!

**Q: I just painted my garage floor with Rustoleum Epoxy with color chips.  I want to add the clear, how much time can I wait before the new clear coat?**
A: It says to put the clear on within 2 days of the base coat.

**Q: How much area can this cover?**
A: pretty close to what it says 250 square feet rolled on two car garage need two boxes

**Q: Because of my poor planning, i only bought one kit for 440 sq ft.  can i apply another coat after the 5 days for more consistent shine?  any tips?**
A: I applied 2 coats.but roughed up the surface with green scrubbies under my Orek rotator floor cleaner pad.  Seemed logical.  Great job my handy man & myself.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent Finish, But Be Prepared for Extra Kits and Quick Application

I recently used the EpoxyShield Premium Floor Coating Kit, Clear for my 2.5 car garage, and while the finish looks great, there are a few things you should know. First, the coverage is significantly less than advertised. I ended up needing four kits to cover the entire garage floor, so plan accordingly. Also, the drying time is incredibly fast, so you need to work quickly to ensure even coverage. Overall, it’s a decent product, but be prepared to buy more kits than you expect and move fast when applying!
