I did firm it to mason jars with distilled water and a little bit of salt and I thought it improved the heat in flavor. Review: Will buy again - Most pods are a deep shade of red. Most pods had the stem removed (I think I had maybe 6 in the entire bag). While my bag had ~3/4 cups of loose seeds outside the pods, that works for me as that's where the heat is. The peppers are potent. I sneezed repeatedly as I was simply transferring the pods to air-tight mason jars. I could feel the airborne capsaicin irritate my cheeks (and I LOVE spicy foods). These have definitely not sat around the grocery store for years like my last bag did.
