I wanted this to make Traveler's Notebook covers. I have made two so far. This does not punch through leather, but that's not a claim that was made. I used it once the hole was punched to set the eylette. This set had the right sized eylettes for the micro TNs I want to make. I will use this when I begin to make laminated paper TNs. Getting that hammer to smash it down just right is almost impossible! How many times have you thought of a great craft idea only to get frustrated because the grommets look like crap? Well, I've owned the Silent Setter for years (I lost it and had to replace it, and let me tell you, I really missed having it), and I swear by it. This system makes it almost impossible to make a bad grommet. Instead of using a hammer, the handheld device "rocks" around the grommet and gently pushes it down.
