My 7yo loves swamp walks, to explore and see the tadpoles and other swamp life. These boots were the right price and work perfectly for my husband to explore the marsh with her. He can walk through the water while staying dry, they stay on his feet, and serve the purpose. The only thing to watch out for is that there are holes on the sides, so that is the water line... his feet got wet the first time because he was gauging the front of the boot as where the water line could go up to, rather than the holes on the sides. The front of the boot is a little higher than the back which is probably good for splashes but can be deceiving when tromping through swamp lands!
