It seems to keep a "creeping" layer of oil/PTFE available, but adding felt washers to your application (if possible) could help ensure it stays that way. **Q: Can you use this product on plastic gears or is there another product for that?** A: Yes, I have used it on plastic, composite, and nylon gears with no cases of it attacking the materials.
