Review: The Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker Is Easy And Fun To Operate Along With Delicious Results! - The Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker worked exactly as stated if you follow simply directions given. Once all ingredients are in it only take 20 minutes. The ice cream could be eaten right away or for a desire harder texture it a be kept in the freezer 1 to 2 hours longer. There’s also short videos online to help you prepare using with ease. Very easy to assemble for use as well as to disassemble to clean. Contains only 3 parts that you have to clean along with the base which only has to be wiped clean. Very low noise level a blender is so much louder. Two of the attachments are plastic very light weight, so of course they should be handled with proper care. The base itself is not heavy or bulky and isa smooth, clean looking and is a solid piece which makes it durable to stay in place while using or in storage. I made a simple chocolate ice cream recipe with my grandson that consisted of only 5 ingredients which tasted delicious (great to know what you’re eating) and while fun to make too! I highly recommend!
Review: It's that good! - This is well designed. The blades are engineered in such a way they don't get stuck in the cream while it's churning. I was amazed at how fast we were able to whip up a batch of ice cream with just milk, cream, a handful of sugar and some flavorings. Did not even cook a custard base. Came out creamy with a texture like gelato. I probably needed to churn it longer, but no one complained! We have only had it for one day, but I do think it will go the distance. We have two machines that require ice and salt. They are such a hassle, we never use them. After using this, I am going to donate them. The Cuisinart is not instant gratification because you do have to freeze the container for 24 hours and chill the mixture, but the ease of use can't be beat. And based on how cold the bowl is after making the first serving, I think I could have made two in a row, so can probably get 3 quarts with a little planning. And it is quiet! This is definitely the sweet spot--a relatively inexpensive machine that works exactly as advertised with minimal things to break or go wrong. I am admittedly partial to Cuisinart. My well-used food processor purchased in the 80's STILL works! I am not expecting the same longevity here, but I think they do a good job.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is Cuisinant ICE-30BC machine easier than Cuisinart ICE-21 to use ?**
A: They both look exactly the same in function, its just the 21 is a bit smaller and has more plastic. Check this guy's video on Youtube and it breaks down the ICE-21. http://youtu.be/jPPdSCHBTR4And he did the same for the ICE-30BC: http://youtu.be/Q40vHKdJmpY

**Q: my machine will not freeze the mixture after the tub in freezer for a week. its like cold milk with some ice. two different batches same results. Why?**
A: I always make sure my gel is good and frozen, I make the mixture and put mixture in stainless steel bowl and put in freezer for about 30 mins to an hour u can tell the mixture kinda starts to thicken up then I pull gel bowl out and churn. Also I make sure my whole milk and heavy cream are REALLY COLD like I don't make it the day I buy milk from store so all this can make or break ur Ice cream.... another thing I like to do to make creamier ice cream is use half and half instead of whole milk. Yummmmy...

**Q: Is the interior of the mixing bowl stainless steel?**
A: The interior of the mixing bowl scratched after first use. So I don't think it is stainless steel

**Q: Why won't my lid stay on?
It acts like either the paddle is too long or the freezer has swelled. My wife and I have both tried and it doesn't matte**
A: We have had this machine for 8 years, make ice cream at least once a month or more if holidays & birthdays. I have never had a problem with the freezer part swelling nor the paddle not setting in correctly and don't have a problem with the lid.
we wash and dry the freezer bowl and put it in a zip lock bag and stick it in the freezer for the next time. We have two freezer bowls so we can make 1 gallon at a time.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works GREAT!
*by S***R on August 12, 2023*

One button, on or off. Too simple. Cook up your fav gelato, ice cream or other frozen dessert recipe. Chill your cooked batch overnight in fridge. Keep the Cuisinart bucket in the freezer overnight. Fill it up with your chilled mix, turn it on and come back in fifteen minutes. Too easy. It's done when the ice cream is so cold it won't churn around anymore. The bigger choices are the recipes, but this machine will make it all. Forget wasting your time with machines with too many buttons and sensors, this machine works - it's simple and to the point and will probably last three decades. The recommended volumes in the Cusinart recipes are about 30% too much material and will overflow a bit, but it's easy to clean up and adjust the volumes for the next batch. Take notes. Lots of good recipe ideas on the web. There's even Marcella Hazan gelato recipes available online (in her book too.) Things to consider - how much fat to use, all milk, or half milk with half and half, or milk and full cream. They will all work. Baker's sugar is super smooth, especially when beaten into farm fresh egg yolks. The better the vanilla, the better the flavor. Vanilla paste from Madagascar rocks. For chocolate, Valronha Feves Guanja and Valrhona Dutch Process Cocoa will beat any chocolate dessert you have ever tasted. I promise you will never go back to the grocery store "gourmet" ice creams which are loaded up with cheap ingredients, fillers etc. Homemade is so superior. Go for it and have fun. To store in freezer, I use the paper One - Pint Frozen Dessert Containers with Lids. Fold up some wax paper and put it on top of the ice cream to prevent crystalizing. Put the whole container in a plastic bag with a tie, so that when you open and close the freezer, it stays super cold and doesn't crystalize on the outside. For the truly obsessed cooks, here's my version of Vanilla Gelato: 325g whole milk - 325g half and half - 50g really thick Icelandic yogurt - 145g bakers sugar - 2 tsp. madagascar vanilla paste - 5 egg yolks - separate the egg yolks, put in bowl, gently whisk in baker's sugar, don't over mix; mix the milk, half and half, yogurt and vanilla together and heat up to about 150 degrees in a good double boiler, stir so it doesn't stick but not too much or it will take forever to warm up; take off heat; slowly add in about a half cup at a time while stirring the eggs, not too much too fast or your will ruin the eggs, then put the mixture back in the double boiler and bring to 165 degrees - not higher - take off the heat immediately, put into a bowl with a good lid - set bowl in some ice water to cool it down quickly. Then put the bowl in the fridge overnight. The Cuisinart mix bowl goes in the freezer overnight. Put it in a clean plastic bag to keep crystals out. Next day, set up the Cuisinart with freezer bowl, pour in chilled mix, let it spin. Mine takes twelve minutes to make. It's done when the gelato stops churning because it is soft frozen. Scoop it into the paper containers with wax paper on top. Makes two pints. Ok, real Italian gelato does not use cream, yogurt or eggs, this is just my version. The amount fills the Cuisinart up without overflowing. You can use only milk, or heavy cream instead of half and half. More or less sugar to your taste. If you don't use the egg yolks, you won't have to mess with the double boiler, but then it won't have the deep crazy good custard flavor. I have tried lots of fancy vanilla pastes. While I can't promote who makes the best, lets just say look for N & M. For the chocoholics - add 70g of melted 70% great chocolate into the warm milk mix plus 42g of Dutch Process cocoa powder. Just don't blame me if you get addicted. Ciao...
