My dog is 2 lbs and 10 oz.** A: I've used these on a chihuahua all the way up to my 95lb boxer/terrier and my 70lb white shepherd akita (and everything in between).I will say that puppy nails are harder because they are so soft, but as long as your clippers are sharp and not old you will be fine. Make sure you have the quick stop blood powder around. I've been doing my dogs nails for over 15 years, and just yesterday even I got a small bleeder.
