After that every time I looked in the mirror it was apparent how noticeable it actually was. I am also PCA at a hospital so I knew how important it was to have a healthy back for both my health and the quality of my work. I tried being more mindful of my posture and doing stretches 3 times a day but I saw real change when I actually purchased this brace for Flexguard and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. It fits under my shirts and isn't noticeable unless I point out I am wearing a brace. I wouldn't recommend wearing the brace for an extended length of time especially if you are doing anything mobile like bending over, squatting,or jumping as the brace will ride up and it's kind of hard to get it back in position without taking everything off. I tried wearing the brace for a whole 12 hour shift and I ended up taking it off half way through. What I do now is when I get home from school or work or whenever I have an hour or 2 at my desk at home I will put on the brace and become mindful of my posture for a few hours. I find that this is more than enough time to make a difference and I saw changes in my posture on the first day and long term change after 3 days of using the brace. I injured my lower back (resulting in surgery) five months before buying this posture corrector. All my life I had less than optimal posture where I would hunch forward. This likely contributed to the overall weakness in my lower back and now results in lower back pain when I hunch forward for even short amounts of time. The product forces me to keep my back straight and shoulders back. resulting in me both sitting and standing straighter, even when not wearing the product. It really helps the lower back pain that results from sitting or standing with my upper body hunched forward. Pros: - Relatively comfortable and can be worn for longer and longer without undue fatigue - The adjustable shoulder straps help you find the right amount of tension to keep your shoulders back - Lightweight and easily work under t-shirts or dress shirts without anyone seeing externally Opportunities for Improvement: - The velcro loop patches on the waist belt could be better positioned and layered. I bought an XL size (I'm 6'1" tall, 215lbs and have a 35" waist) and it is a little big for my waist, requiring me to tighten it beyond the available velcro loop. The waist belt is a wide main belt with reinforcing straps on each side. The outer side of the main belt has a 6" swath of velcro loop, about 1.5" of space, and another 1" swath of velcro loop. The inner tip of the right side has about 2" of velcro hook. It would be better if there was simply a single swath of velcro loop that extended a few inches from where the 1" loop patch currently sits. This would allow me to tighten the main belt and put less strain on the reinforcing straps. Regardless, If something happened to the belt I have, I'd buy another one of these. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not working so far *by D***F on April 26, 2018* We bought this product a few months ago to test whether we could correct our curving posture, but unfortunately the product was more effective in tightening our stomachs than it was to make our arching back straight. The back brace was effective at pushing our shoulders back and restraining our upper movements to a few tasks. However, the bottom pieces of the strap was not as effective at posturing our backs to become straight but instead tightened our bellies. It was more of a weight control garment than anything else. After a week of utilizing the staff sporadically throughout the day and the following week of wearing the strap for 18 hours and then utilizing it again for the next several weeks, there was no real difference in our overall posture. All we noticed is the immediate tension when putting on the strap in our upper body shoulders and that was it. However, it was for the most part comfortable to put on. We suggest applying it over a t-shirt and not your bareskin as the tension from the straps will cause irritation and rashes to your skin after excessive use. Also note: This our first time testing and buying a back brace and so we do not have a baseline to compare this particular product with. This is our overall experience utilizing the product so far and will update it accordingly. Our rating scale Design: 3/5 Utility: 3/5 Effectiveness: 2/5 Noticeable flaws: The straps didn't give the needed tension to straight our backs and felt like we were wearing a stomach restriction garment than a back strap. Our answers to the frequently asked questions: Will this make your back straight? The short answer is no. We're reading a few of the comments and most people quoted in saying that it takes time and dedication to train your back to become straight, but we felt that the product should provide us with some level of support to help that process. In this case, it didn't so much. Can you work out at the gym in this? We utilized this strap while working out and it works just fine. It might actually be better as it provides some tension and stability to your workout, but we don't recommend it for strenuous activities (heavy weight lifting). I am 6'2 and about 195,what size should I get? Please see their size measuring chart. Overall, we had some issues with this particular item, but we would like to test other straps to measure whether this strap was effective or not.
