Review: the only dehumidifier for me - these dehumidifiers are so effective, quiet, and they last a long time. I bought several to keep around my 1 bedroom apartment in the summer and in the bathroom/closet year round. using them and then emptying them is a no nonsense operation. I tried another type of mini dehumidifier and it was very underwhelming and broke after a short time.

**Q: We have an extremely humid bathroom that is about 11' X 8', and a bad mold problem. Would this unit be big enough to deal get rid of moisture?**
A: For an 11 x 8 bathroom, you would be better served with a slightly larger unit, or perhaps using two might get the job done. They can be discretely placed as humidity festers high and low.
- I was surprised how well these cheap dehumidifiers perform.  The space I use it in is 5x5x8' tall.  My Florida home had a built in emergency space converted to a high security arms vault. I used to use Damp Rid and electric dehumidifier wands (which is just a heating element) to keep this space dry.   This device has paid for itself 100x over my costs of using Damp Rid over the years.

The device I use I modified slightly so that it never will shut off when the tank is full. I simply added a secondary external tank with the unit on top of the secondary tank, with a stepped overflow drain tube, that drains into the secondary tank which holds just over a gallon. The tubing I used is impregnated with silver, as mold and silver are arch enemies.

**Q: Is it battery run?**
A: To all the people replying it’s electrical, batteries are electrical (pounding head on wall). Its plug in.

**Q: i can't get the lid off the water tank. The lid is very tight. i can't get it off.  is that normal or do you just empty it by draining it upside down?**
A: I have the same problem. There is mold inside the water reservoir and I can't remove the lid to clean it. Just removing the drain plug doesn't allow for proper cleaning.

**Q: If i run this unit 24-7 what re going to be my approx cost in running the electric?  i'm in florida so it will need to run 24-7...**
A: Someone said that it uses 20 watts.  If your power costs are $.10/kwh (around what we pay here in Idaho, I don't know what you pay in Florida), then expect to pay about $1.50/month.  My math: 720 hours (approximate hours in a month) * .02 kilowatts (same as 20 watts) * $.10 kwh  = $1.44.  You can change those variables if my assumptions are wrong.

I bought mine November 2021 for our camper. It just quit working recently. So it lasted about 5 years. I’m happy it lasted that long and it did a good job.

So it does remove some water but is not effective or efficient on power. I actually tested it in my small camper 16 foot. This is gonna be long so stay with me….. I started it on a near 100% humidity day IE it was raining and over 80 degrees. So if you know the way they are tested (at least the big ones) it’s in high humidity and temp where they are the most efficient. After 24 hours it removed exactly 6 fl oz’s of water. About the same as a desiccant bag etc…however… I then tested my 50 pint compressor dehumidifier that I use in my three car garage. That unit is rated at 745 watts. The small on is rated at 20 watts (so way better right) NO. I opened my garage up to bring the humidity up to outside levels as the unit keeps the garage at 50% ish all the time. Once it was humid inside I tested that one. In 6 minutes it removed 6 fl oz’s so same as the small unit in 24 hours (actually a little more but close). So at 745 watts for 6 minutes…or at 20 watts for 1440 minutes you do the math. About 7 times more energy for the same effect. Now I know I don’t need that much power in the camper….but maybe a smaller compressor unit. They other issue is that in minutes the large unit will turn my large garage from 70 to 50 percent humidity…the small one had almost no effect on the humidity reading in the small camper in 24hrs…meaning that the outside humidity probably infiltrated the camper faster than the unit could pull the humidity out…so really no effect…opening the windows would prolly give the same reading on the meter. So at the end of the day this works but if you want to actually keep the humidity at a lower level then this is not the tool… Will it reduce humidity kinda…but for the amount of energy it’s not efficient or effective….
