Review: Well Worth the $80 ($60, but I'll Explain) - This board, for $60, is one of the best on desertcart as of now. The design on the board is flawless and very California-esc. The board, after doing some basic tricks, cruising, and such, is VERY durable, and is very nice. The grip tape is also very high quality. The wheels are fine, and for beginners, does not need replacing, but more advanced long-boarders may have a preference for different wheels. The bushings are fine, but I chose to get bushings according to weight. (Not necessary, just preference) My issue is the bearings. While they are NOT bad by any means, I feel that they are a bit lackluster. However, that should somewhat be expected for $60 given that the quality of everything else is great. I said that it is worth $80 because I paid $20 for Bones Red bearings w/Skate tool. You WILL need a skate tool for loosening/tightening your trucks, as mine came very tight. For me, I think Bones has the best bearings on the market, and given that they're only $20 with a skate tool (as of now), it's a good investment. OVERALL: For a beginner, this board will be OUTSTANDING. The quality of the board is worth more than the $60 price. The only change you should make is getting Bones Red bearings, and I also would suggest doing so for any board between $50-$120. Update: I have now bought both a skateboard and longboard, and am proficient on both. (Enough to do basic tricks). This board is outstanding. I have dealt alot of blows to it against the cement due to bumpy NY asphalt, and the board has little damage.(Other than typical chipping from frontside flips, etc)
Review: I was surprised. *Edit* I'm more surprised. - It's like a terrible long board that got inspired by an amazing one. You almost can't tell the difference. BUT It is very bouncy. If you are losing contact with the board, you are relinquishing control. So you really shouldn't go too fast down anything that isn't smooth. A sidewalk will split your head open the second you encounter "downhill terrain." You could have been riding long boards since you left the womb and I promise you, you will be very uncomfortable with the board leaving you every other quarter second. Everything else is made slightly less up to par than your standard board. Bearings are a little rougher, still smooth. Trucks are a little weird feeling, still work great though. The wood is really bouncy, there's a dip like there should be but it's sooooo subtle that I almost had to look for it. The wheels are really nice. The grip tape is on the finer side but that's more preference than anything. Is it a good board? Yes Could you get better for $200 Yes But at around $50?! It can't be beat. ******EDIT******* I BOUGHT THIS BOARD 3-4 YEARS AGO I have passed moving vehicles on campus with this bad boy I swapped out the bearings with "BONES® BIG BALLS® REDS® SKATEBOARD BEARINGS 8 PACK" The board is still quick, responsive, I've learned to work with the flexibility and I bomb past everyone I skate with. Like a fine wine it aged wonderfully. I have skaters try it and they WANT THE BOARD, I've referred at least 20 people to this thing over the years. Actually unbelievable. I don't understand how it went from a board I bought because I didn't wanna be sad about it getting run over by a car, to a must have to everybody who tries it. I beat the life out of it, and it doesn't care🗿 To cut all of this short, buy the board if you're reading this and wondering if you should. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the flex like on this board?**
A: Like a spring board. I can almost make the middle of the board touch the ground when jumping on it, if that puts it into perspective.

**Q: Are the trucks metal or plastic**
A: The trucks are cast aluminum

**Q: Should i buy this or the retrospec zed bamboo complete cruiser? i'm new to longboarding but i pick up stuff fast.**
A: The drop through will be easier to push since it is lower to the ground and has better wheel clearance. For these reasons I would recommend it. The other board does have a kick tail though so if doing Ollie's are important to you then go with that one. Although being 44in this will difficult, but easier than with the drop though. I hope this helps.

**Q: Has anyone changed the wheels? Want to add better ones for cracks in streets etc. Any suggestions on matching size brand ??**
A: I haven't tried wheels on skate boards, but I have changed wheels on roller skates. I have outdoor wheels and indoor wheels. I would interview skate park participants about their own experiences and what wheels work better for rough terrain etc., prior to purchasing better wheels. The best to your hunt for a better ride.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome beginner longboard
*by N***H on October 17, 2019*

This is my first longboard, so I’m not an expert by any means. This board has been really good to me though. Let’s start with what is good: First, the board looks so good in person. I was hoping to pick up the ripple design, but I bought this one since it was out of stock. I’m glad I did because it looks amazing. Whatever design you get, you’ll be happy with it. This board can take quite a beating. I’ve ran it into a concrete wall a few times, I’ve rode it in the rain, I’ve scraped up the trucks, and I pop it up off the ground to pick it up. No delamination. The only wear it has is a bit on each end from popping it up, scrapes on the trucks from me running it off the sidewalk a few times, and the grip tape is a bit dirty. Still rides like a champ. It is really stable. The drop thru trucks help with the stability compared to top-mount. Just make sure to tighten the bushings a bit to fit your preferences, especially if you’re just starting out. There are a few other things to note: The bearings aren’t too bad by any means, but I did end up switching to bones reds bearings after I felt like I was comfortable on the board. The board also comes with bearing spacers, which is a plus. This board doesn’t have much flex. That’s really good if you’re looking for a sturdy board, but also depends on preference. Since I’m riding around campus with a lot of sidewalks, it might be better to have a bit more flex. I weigh 160 lbs, so I’d say this board is definitely good up to at least 220 lbs, if not more. The plastic does go under the trucks when you get it, so you’ll have to take the trucks off to get it out. This isn’t too bad though, especially if you have a skate tool. It’s a good opportunity to learn about the hardware of the board too. Just make sure not to lose the nuts and washers. This board does perform well in the rain, but if you want your grip tape to stay clean, I’d suggest only riding it in dry weather. The bushings felt a bit soft at first, so I tightened them before learning to skate. After a month and a half I felt comfortable enough to loosen them, and it’s much easier to turn and carve now. It’s basically a balance between stability and turn. I did have a few small problems with this board. If the bushings are too loose, it’s possible to get wheelbite. That’ll stop you in a hurry and might kick you right off the board. This was only a problem for me when I was beginning, and was made better when I tightened the bushings. It hasn’t been an issue for me since my balance has improved, even with loosening the bushings, and I can make pretty tight carves without worrying about it. The grip tape isn’t the most durable and can crack a bit at the edges, but I have been putting it under a lot of stress over the past month and a half and it’s still doing its job well. Overall, this seems to be a great longboard. It’s sturdy, responsive, and at a great price. I needed something to help me get around campus faster and this works well for that. it also has been a lot of fun. I’d definitely recommend this board.
