The Models Heinkel He 219 Uhu Model Kit is a highly detailed 1/48 scale replica of the iconic WWII German night fighter, featuring die-cast metal cockpit flooring for realistic weight, two crew figures for added authenticity, and precision engineering by Tamiya. ## Description

Powered by two Daimler-Benz DB603 engines, this aircraft with a long and slender fuselage displayed its combat-worthiness against allied bombers in nocturnal operations during the final period of the conflict. Several versions were produced starting with the He219A-0 in 1942 and among them, the He219A-7 was the final and the most sophisticated version. It is equipped with larger, improved super charger intakes for its DB603G engines. Coupled with a FuG220 radar, two dorsal 30mm canons dubbed "Schrage Musik" plus two each 20 or 30mm canons in the wing-roots and the ventral tray enhanced A-7's capability as a high altitude night-fighter.

With a nose weight built into the cockpit Tamiya has once again shown great care and innovation. The landing gear is a little tricky so I opted for the SAC metal replacements. The build is straight forward and the fuselage fits together seemelesly .A very unique subject with plenty of paint schemes to choose from. Two pilots give this one scale and add to the overall finish. Probably an intermediate build for most modelers with few problems except the landing gear.
