I tested the unit at home in a tub of water and it worked fine, however when I began using it on a regular basis on vacation it failed to protect my phone. On the third day of use the seal failed (im not sure where) and sea-water penetrated the case ruining my phone.In hindsight, I think using an expensive phone for under water excursions is a bad idea. You can purchase a rugged little camera for not much more than what this case costs. Regardless, I am disappointed in the case, and in myself for trusting it to protect my $700 phone... Not enough to to kill my phone but enough for it to randomly shut it of. ### ⭐⭐ I would not recommend using any 'waterproof case' with a phone in an ... *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2017* This review is based on use of the product in various enviornments & situations (SUP- fell in the water, the case didn't leak, lake kayaking, the case didn't leak, snorkeling , the case leaked). As a protective cover, the case is built well enough. As a device meant to protect a phone from a wet enviornment, it is adequate, if certain percautions are taken. Two weak spots are: 1) the snapping clips - each must be be fully functional and set in place by 'feel' and sound & 2) the sealing ring must be inspected and made additionally snug by palm compression. In my opinion, it is not reliable enough to use in 'action' hand held photography in a wet enviornment - a clip may inadvertenly be loosened. I would not recommend using any 'waterproof case' with a phone in an underwater enviornment - the first bubble will cost at least $200 to repair the wet phone. Note 1: If in a 'wet enviornment and the product leaks, it is near impossible to prevent further damage until out of that enviornment. Note 2: In addition, it is easy to use up a lot of memory shooting video, in which circumstance, the phone camera controls will be hard to analyze.
