Do an Internet search for how to do it. **Q: does it require a sim card and service from VOIP?** A: No sim card needed but I have a service that doesn’t charge when calling between VOIP units. Two cents per minute when calling a none VOIP number. Keeps my cell number open for other use. **Q: does this device works for google voice?** A: It depends on what you mean by 'work with google voice'. Many people mean can they use google voice as their VoIP service provider and get free phone service. The answer to that question is no, not with the PAP2T or any other ATA that uses the only the SIP protocol. The only analog telephone adapters that I know of that work with google voice were by Obihai which was absorbed by Polycom. You should check the current offerings from Polycom if you want free phone service based on google voice. But that is not the only way to use google voice. I use my google voice number as a central number to give to all my associates. The google voice number then redirects calls to both my cell and my home number - the PAP2T ATA. Of course the PAP2T is supported by a VoIP service provider. I have used my google voice number with my VoIP telephone adapter for several years. It works fine and the economic advantage of VoIP service over the cost of land line service is compelling.
