## Description

How we got our start What makes our product unique Why we love what we do

Review: Hold B button in - Works great, no more blurry gameplay. What they don’t tell you is that for it to work properly you have to hold in the B button in your controller to put the game cube into progressive scan mode when you turn it on. then it’s 480p instead of 480i
Review: Amazing resolution, puts cheap converters to shame! - This was money well spent! Seriously, I was using a scrappy $13 converter that made Twilight Princess look like Vaseline was smeared all over the TV and the game was so dark that I had trouble seeing some areas. But this converter is like putting on proper glasses for the first time after having been used to bad eyesight! It even took me 30 minutes to adjust and get used to the sharpness and great resolution. The remote allows for image tweaks. I set the tv to a 4:3 aspect ratio and it looks perfect. Still doesn't beat a good old CRT, but this is still fantastic.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this not support progressive scan? None of my games are detecting it.**
A: It does. Be sure to press and hold b on boot

**Q: Will this work with the Panasonic Q?**
A: Apparently yes! Provided the model of the Q you have has a Digital AV out port, it should be compatible.

**Q: The prism switches resolution between gameplay and cutscenes, when this happens the screen turns blank for a few sec making most games unplayable?**
A: This is a problem with the underlying software that Gamecube HDMI adapters use which is called GCVideo. It is software that is not developed by the manufacturer of devices like the Prism.

There are two ways to fix this. If you have a modded Gamecube and are running Swiss, you need to enable an advanced option named Force Video Active. This isn't entirely desirable because you still get one screen blank for about a second at the start of each cutscene, but it's much better than the 3 seconds before and after every cutscene.

Option 2 is downgrading the firmware of the Prism back to a 2018 version, 2.4c, which was the last version this issue did not occur. You can find links on the GCVideo github page or in the CamecubeHacks subreddit.

**Q: My gamecube model is D0L 101, will this work?**
A: No. It’s possible but not usually cost effective to modify a USA DOL-101 Gamecube to add a Digital AV port, buying a USA DOL-001 is usually a better choice, Regions other than the USA and Japan never had a Gamecube with a Digital AV port so retrofitting a digital AV port is the only way for a console for those regions to have one. The DOL-101 reduced production costs as much as possible by deleting both the Digutal AV connector, and some of the connectors underneath the Gamecube used by modules like the Ethernet adapter that like Digital TV were ahead of their time and games that used them didn’t appear until the Wii generation of consoles.. Deleting the Digital AV connector wasn’t a forward looking move and it saved, less than $1. The only less savvy choice was molding the lid plastics to prevent the Gamecube from using a full size DVD in its otherwise standard DVD drive.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth it.
*by A***N on July 19, 2022*

Definitely worth the price if you are into improving the quality of your retro gaming experience. Works best with progressive scan compatible games (check the back of the game jacket. Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 are examples). Easy to install and use, I was using it within minutes of opening it. At first I noticed the scan lines on my screen, but got used to it after a few minutes of gaming. Only flaw I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t like to stay securely in the port on the back of the GameCube, but this is not a huge deal as it sits on my entertainment center and is only touches to turn on/off.
