I notice subtle differences if I use as instructed, BUT... if you use it on dry (or almost dry) hair, it really tones and whitens the hair. I left it on dry hair for an hour last time, and it made me hair slightly lilac, which I actually really liked too, so I didn't try to change with shampoo. (It washed down to an ash colour after 2 washes, and back to brassy after about 4- time to do it over again!!) I find my hair still feels quite dry with this though, so I only use this every 3-4 washes (about 2 weeks for me), and in between, i use a colour care shampoo and conditioner (the pink Love Beauty Planet duo is my fave), and try to do a moisturising mask (sometimes mixed with coconut oil) at least once between uses of this product. The 1L bottle is really great value, and has lasted me a year so far! My only gripe is that the lid arrived broken, and then fell off completely after a few months, so i've had to stick it together to keep using it.
