I have the Nissan frame mounted hitch on, but the ball was only 5 inches above the street. Did not even extend but 2 " out from the bumper. I guess the hitch would have been alright for a very small utility trailer, but even that would be pushing. The Nissan dealer that installed it said it was rater for 2,000 lbs. The Altama it's self is rated for 1500 lb toe weight. My boat is less then a 1,000, I thought I was being smart by going to the Nissan dealer....I thought wrong! Anyway I found the riser/extender here, and by golly it is perfect.
