I think if I saw off the area that sticks out on each end, it will fit fine. Will that work?** A: I think you bought the 4 inch one which is too big for your trailer. The smaller 3 inch should fit. These are the only two sizes. **Q: What size is the locking nut ?didn’t come with one !!** A: Take the bolt with you to the hardware store and match it up there . Preferably a self locking nut. **Q: My bumper is 6 inches from end to end. All of these are a choice of 3 or 4 inch. What is that measuring?** A: This is a bow roller. They are typically 3" or 4" long and fit between two flat mounting brackets that are drilled for the mounting bolt. This one has extra protective caps that cover the outside of mounting bracket area. These rollers are usually close to where your trailer winch is located. When the boat is pulled onto the trailer the bow eye would be in close proximity to the bow roller which acts as a stop. The roller you are looking for may be a keel or spool roller. Those styles are used down lower on the trailer where the boat hull rides over the frame. The key measurement to size any roller is the distance between the mounting brackets and the roller shaft hole size. The common lengths of these rollers are 5, 8, 10, 12" and up with a hole for either a 1/2" or 5/8" shaft.
