It was also an event when it was released back in 2006, 81 minutes of remixed/remastered Beatles bliss, blessed by the remaining Beatles (and that horrible Ono woman). If you had a really good surround sound system, you were transported. So, how does this Mannheim disc compare? It doesn't. While it does state at the top of the case, DVD MUSIC, I was browsing Amazon's Movies & TV section, looking for new concerts. This is NOT a concert. There is not a problem with this DVD at all. The problem is that there isn't enough information about the DVD to let people know exactly what they are buying.So this is what you are buying. You are buying an amazing collection of Mannheim Steamroller's classic Christmas music that has been remastered and mixed into Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. If you do not have a surround sound system then buying this DVD would be totally pointless, but if you have a surround sound system in your home, then this DVD is for you. The songs, in this new mix, sound totally incredible. The highlight of the DVD is definitely, Carol of the Bells. It sounds outstanding in surround sound!This is a DVD audio disc, which means that audio is all you get. There are no videos to go along with the music. If CDs could play surround sound then I'm sure that is what Mannheim Steamroller would have used, but DVDs are the only medium that can play surround sound.
